YOBS are being investigated by police after football fans were seen jumping on cars and damaging a bus following the England game.

Officers were called to reports a large group of football fans were causing trouble outside the Commercial Hotel in Haslingden at around 3.15pm on Sunday.

Around 50 people were seen in the street following the England vs Panama World Cup game.

Cars were jumped on by fans and a Rosso bus was also damaged.

A Rosso spokesman said: "Along with the rest of country, we were thrilled with the England score line in the World Cup over the weekend, but obviously really concerned at the incident in Haslingden on Sunday afternoon.

"The actions of the attackers could potentially have endangered the people on the bus including our driver, and themselves.

"We’re relieved that no one was hurt by their actions, and we are co-operating with the police in their inquiry into the matter."

Police said they were called to disperse the crowd and no arrests have yet been made.

A police spokesman said: "We received reports of public order offences, damage to a bus, bottles being thrown and flares being set off.

"Investigations are underway."
