A DISQUALIFIED driver took a risk and drove to school to drop off a forgotten lunch box so he could back in time for his lift to work.
Blackburn magistrates heard John Fenton was stopped was stopped by police during the short journey and identified as being banned from driving until he passed an extended re-test following a conviction for dangerous driving in 2014.
Fenton, 32, of Farmhouse Close, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance. He was sentenced to nine weeks in prison suspended for 12 months with 15 days rehabilitation activity requirement and 60 hours unpaid work. He was ordered to pay £85 costs and £115 victim surcharge.
Sarah Aslam, defending, said her client was extremely remorseful for what he described as a foolish decision.
