NURSERIES across Blackburn have joined forces with a metal recycler to help educate children on recycling.
EMR have donated recycling bins to Tudor House day nurseries across the borough which have a dedicated area for recycling, focusing on metal recycling, where children will bring waste from their homes to be recycled by EMR.
Ben Smithson, site manager at EMR’s Blackburn depot, said: “EMR recycles 10 million tonnes of metal each year, which saves 15 million tonnes of CO2 compared to using virgin ores.
“It’s important to educate everyone on the importance of recycling as our virgin resources won’t last forever.
The nurseries are on Shear Brow, New Chapel Street, Altom Street and Hancock Street.
