A MAN has been charged in connection with a seven-hour rooftop stand-off with police in Great Harwood.
Police had been called to Commercial Road, Great Harwood, on Saturday following reports a man was on a roof.
The fire service, police negotiators, riot officers and a police dog were later called to the scene.
A man was arrested around Saturday lunchtime in connection with the incident.
A police spokesman said this evening: "Following on from the road closure on Blackburn Road, Great Harwood, yesterday, we can confirm that 25-year-old David Osbaldeston/Walsh has been charged with affray, criminal damage and possession of an offensive weapon.
"He will appear before Blackburn Magistrates Court in the morning."
