BLACKBURN with Darwen Council leader Mohammed Khan has been given planing permission to build an extension to his home.
The Labour politician can now add a single storey kitchen and bathroom extension to his terraced house in Lancaster Place in his Wensley Fold ward.
Because Cllr Khan is an elected member of Blackburn with Darwen Council his application for the alteration had to be considered by the borough planning committee.
The extension will be 3.9metres high and projects five metres from the original back wall of the mid-terraced property.
The committee approved the extension on Thursday.
