A FIRE which broke out yesterday afternoon is being treated as 'suspicious'.

Crews from Rawtenstall attended the fire involving rubbish and a property in Manchester Road, Haslingden, at about 3.20pm.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels and two positive ventilation fans to put out the fire.

They were at the scene for around 90 minutes.

A fire service spokesman said the blaze is thought to be of 'suspicious origin'.
