A NEW supermarket is set to create 22 jobs.

German budget store company Aldi will open its Crownest Road site in Barnoldswick on July 12, with the new store still under construction.

The new store will be managed by Kieron Sethi, from Fence, who will lead the Barnoldswick team having received comprehensive training and business management experience at a number of Aldi stores in the region.

Mr Sethi said: “It’s always exciting to open a new store, and the team and I look forward to meeting customers over the coming months.

"We’ve put together a brilliant, local team to help run the Barnoldswick store and I’m confident that together we can provide an excellent shopping experience for customers.”

Aldi, crowned Employer of the Year 2017 at the Grocer Gold Awards, say they offer one of the best working environments in the UK and one of the highest rates of pay in the supermarket sector, with the majority of Aldi colleagues now receiving a minimum rate of £8.85 per hour, regardless of their age.

All staff will benefit from rising salaries during their service, with store assistant salaries rising to £10.41 after four years.

Applications and more information on all of Aldi’s store positions can be found on Aldi’s recruitment website at www.aldirecruitment.co.uk.

Aldi will announce plans for the launch celebrations for the new Barnoldswick store in the coming weeks.
