1. On Saturday, families can attend Blackburn Cathedral’s reading day, where authors will read to children. This will include Donovan Christopher at 10.30am, Christina Gabbitas at 11.15am with Welcome To The World Of Felicity Fly, and Liz Millon at noon with Draw Like A Pro.

2. Enjoy the music and arts at Rawtenstall’s Music and movie festival at Whitaker Park. Screenings start on Friday 7pm and carry on until Sunday. Catch Fantastic Mr Fox on Saturday at 11am, or enjoy the live entertainment for free, with 24-hour Party People at 7pm. Tickets for movies must be booked in advance through www.thewhitaker.org.

3. Camp for two nights at Clitheroe’s Break in the Clouds Festival at Gisburn Forest on Friday and Saturday evening. Acts such as The Lovely Eggs, and Jim Ghedi will be performing, while acoustic performers Baxter Rhodes, Terry Logan and more perform on the Enchanted Forest stage. Or take part in the live action Family Theatre Game - The Sorrowful Stag, where families use their creative skills to work together. Buy tickets on Eventbrite.

4. Get into the World Cup spirit at Blackburn Rovers from 11am to 3pm. BRFC Trust are hosting the World Cup Family Fun Day, with free entry there are sports activities and stalls to enjoy.

5. Watch the England vs Panama game at 1pm on Sunday on the big screen outside Blackburn town hall.

6. Motor Enthusiasts can browse around Towneley Park’s free Classic Vehicle Show in Burnley. The annual show returns with classic cars on display, bikes, steam engines, army vehicles, and more.
