A MAN who went drinking at a friend’s house after work drove home later because he thought his partner would be worried.

Blackburn magistrates heard when he was stopped by police Justinas Bernotas gave false details.

And when his correct details were obtained he was found to be a disqualified driver.

Bernotas, 29, of Rowland Avenue, Nelson, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, while disqualified and without insurance and obstructing a police officer.

He was sentenced to 18 weeks in prison suspended for 18 months with a six months alcohol treatment requirement and 10 days rehabilitation activity requirement.

He was banned from driving for 46 months and ordered to pay £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
