THE Restricted Forest festival will return to Witton park for two dates this year.

There will be a first event next month and a second in September, however, the line-up has only been announced for the autumn date as yet.

A spokesman for the festival said: "The council issued us another date after the Septempber one was announced so we didn’t want to throw the opportunity away.”

For the September date, which will run from 1pm to 11pm, three stages will invite various artists and acts on stage.

On the Aslan stage, there will be Radio One DJ Charlie Sloth, Jamie Duggan, and Danny T amongst others.

The Hometree stage, hosted by Grenade, will feature artists such as Max Chapman, Intu the Woods and Ainsworth.

And the Pagoda stage, hosted by Retro, will see the likes of K-class, and Shades of Rhythm. A special guest is yet to be announced.

The spokesman added: “Last year over the two events we pulled in over 3000 people from all over the country and we are expecting to double that with the two this year.”

There had been concerns about noise levels from nearby residents but organisers said there should be no issues.

They said: "On the day we work with the council and environmental officers to ensure the noise level is suitable for our guests but most importantly the residents, which we monitor throughout the night."

Cllr Damian Talbot for Mill Hill and Moorgate, and executive member for leisure, said: “Last year was a success, and there were minimal concerns, as I personally monitored the event. There were various staff involved, including police officers, Witton park staff, and events are submitted for planning in advance.

“At the end there is always a debrief, which looks at how the event went. We had perhaps just one complaint last year.”
