POLICE have praised the majority of revellers at a music event with just a handful of incidents to report.

The three-day Bands on the Square (BOTS) started on Saturday and ends tomorrow (Monday), and features a variety of music acts and artists.

Underage drinkers were warned they could end up in a police cell if they were caught but officers said most people have 'behaved'.

One arrest was made at the venue after a 16-year-old boy was found with alcohol but he was later de-arrested and sent home.

While two drink/domestic related arrests were made away from the venue and four people were escorted home early after being found 'under the influence of alcohol'.

In total, over 40 litres of booze was seized by police.

PC Nigel Keates, who works in Colne and West Craven, said: "Great night at and around BOTS with very few issues, proactive policing, proactive security staff, switched on stewards and vigilant bar staff .

"The public were helped by reporting those that were beginning to cause concern.

"People on the whole were very well behaved."
