HOMES are currently without water as engineers attend to a burst pipe.
Engineers from United Utilities have closed off part of Windsor Road in Blackburn to carry-out emergency repairs after a pipe burst and sprayed out into the road.
The leak was first reported just before midday and some homes are still experiencing low water pressure or no water at all.
A spokesperson for United Utilities said: "Our inspector has confirmed that a leak on Windsor Road is the cause of some customers experiencing low pressure or no water.
"Our engineers have been requested to attend and carry out the necessary repairs.
"Some may notice fluctuations in water pressure until the repairs are completed."
Inspectors were also called out yesterday to investigate a number of reports from residents in the Blackburn about 'white water'.
Despite posing no harm for drinking, investigators were looking into the cause over the overly-aerated water.
