THE 21ST Accrington Food Festival is set to take place next month.

More than 14,000 people are set to hit the town to sample food and flavours from across the globe.

There will be 60 food and drinks stalls, celebrity chef Richard Fox to perform a cooking demonstration of one of his signature dishes - black pudding quails scotch egg.

The annual Second World War re-enactment to commemorate D-Day will also take place at St James' Church.

Various activities will be taking place for children on the day including a cupcake decorating session with students from Accrington and Rossendale College, 'Hands-on Science' will be running free 10-minute science demonstrations every hour.

Cllr Clare Cleary, cabinet member for Accrington Town Centre, said: "The sheer volume of people who attend the food festival held in Accrington annually makes it the best attended event in Accrington and is testament to the demand for this event."

This year's event has three gold sponsors - Duckworths Estate Agents, Accrington and Rossendale College and Quality Solicitors Acklam Bond.
