A HUSBAND who was hospitalised days into the fairytale Disney honeymoon has been told he's medically fit to fly home.

Ryan and Chloe Salmon, from Burnley, had jetted off to Florida on a two-week dream holiday to celebrate their wedding.

However things took a sudden turn when Ryan, 32, who has cystic fibrosis, ended up in hospital, struggling to breathe and suffering with severe back and chest pains.

Ryan's medical bills became more than £36,000 and the couple have managed to raise more than £10,000 through an online funding page.

On a statue on Facebook, Chloe, 25, said: "Good news. Ryan is finally deemed fit to fly and has been discharged from the hospital and can continue his treatment once home.

"America is quite advanced in terms of cystic fibrosis.

"I have never been so happy to see him back to his usual self and we thank you all for your well wishes and incredibly kind words and donations."

The couple may have to pay the full amount after Ryan's insurance was being disputed by the provider, Yorkshire Bank.

Chloe said Ryan had declared his condition to the bank and continued to pay a monthly fee for five years.

She said when Ryan contacted the bank, it said he had been sent a letter saying his condition was excluded, which the couple claim they never received.

Chloe said the bank had claimed it had sent a letter every year to update his insurance.

A Yorkshire Bank spokesman said the bank was in touch with Ryan and looking into the details of the case.

Ryan, who has had the condition all of his life, spent several days in Dr P Phillips Hospital in Orlando, needing oxygen, nebulisers and steroids, as well as respiratory care and help from specialised nurses.
