RIBCHESTER Amateur Theatrical Society will be hoping to leave audiences shaken and stirred when they stage a comedy set in a cocktail bar.

Written by John Godber and Jane Thornton, Shakers was originally set in the 1980s but has been moved forward a decade for this production which runs at Ribchester Village Hall next week.

Featuring four actresses who play both the staff and the customers both in the bar and as they prepare for their night out, Shakers is an earthy and fast moving comedy and not suitable for a young audience.

The cast is made up of Emma Smith,Anna Davies, Emily Watts and Demi Fish and the production is being directed by Keith Flood.

The play highlights how women through the ages have had to juggle different demands on their time and is a study of friendship and relationships at work.

The society first performed the play back in 2005 when the cast was Viki Mason, Rebecca Parkinson, Caroline Hindle and Bryony Frost.

Shakers, Ribchester Village Hall, Thursday, May 24 to Saturday, May 26. Tickets from 01254 878530 or 01254 878479
