PLANS for an improved viewing and seating area for bowlers at a pub have been given the green light
A proposal to remove a flagged seating area and for decking that will extend onto part of the bowling green at the Butlers Arms, Victoria Road, Pleasington, was given permission by Blackburn with Darwen Council’s planning and highways committee next week.
The extension will also be available for use by customers on non-match days.
The decking will be a maximum of 200mm higher than ground level and An outdoor bar is to be positioned in the single storey outbuilding for use on busy days.
Outdoor string lighting will be erected from a lightweight timber pergola, with some planting/ cedar batons to provide additional visual and noise screening.
Level access to the decking will be provided from the car park to enable disabled people to use the facility.
