The East Lancashire Hospice Corporate Challenge for 2018 has now begun and KeyFleet are delighted to announce their participation alongside 25 other companies, all raising money for their local hospice in their own way.

The businesses all came together at the hospice on the 12th of April for the official launch and were given £50 each to kickstart their fundraising. The challenge is to turn £50 into as much as they can within a six-month period. All sponsor money raised will help to provide care for local people who are coping with a life-limiting illness at a time when they need it most.

When Marc McLoughlin, managing director of fleet management company KeyFleet, visited his mum in East Lancashire Hospice his eyes were opened wide to exactly what services the hospice had to offer.

He also realised how the hospice engages with people early after diagnosis and supports not only the patient but also the patient’s family offering counselling and therapies.

Sadly, his mum passed away but for Marc it was the beginning of a dedication to help. And now he and his staff at KeyFleet aim to raise in excess of £10,000 during East Lancashire Hospice’s 2018 Corporate Challenge.

Marc has worked in the motor finance industry since 1995 and has an impressive CV working for Lloyds TSB, Haydock Finance and Citibank before forming KeyFleet with his brother and executive director Lee in 2007.

The business, which has a staff of 16, is based at Manor Court, Salesbury Hall Road, Ribchester. It specializes in daily, weekly and long-term hire; short-term leasing and fleet management.

It will be the first time KeyFleet has entered the Corporate Challenge and it was sparked by an announcement at a BNI group meeting.

Now the team at KeyFleet has started planning their cash-raising strategy.

Marc as a keen runner intends to take part along with other staff members in a couple of 10k races for which he hopes to be sponsored. One of the sales admin administrators, Mevish Khan, plans a sponsored skydive.

KeyFleet also plans to host a charity football event in conjunction with Oakhill Academy in Whalley whilst there will be several other initiatives all hoping to raise cash for the cause.

Marc said: “We have joined the challenge because at KeyFleet we want to help the local community as lots of the staff live locally and are all keen to do their bit. We are avid supporters of East Lancashire Hospice, they are a fab charity to work with and we are looking forward to using the KeyFleet team spirit to raise as much money as possible”
