A WOMAN whose husband had spent the day in the garden drinking called police to have him removed from their home.

Blackburn magistrates heard Rodney Mark Wallace was extremely drunk and was demanding money so he could by more alcohol.

Wallace, 46, of Douglas Road, Bacup, admitted a breach of the peace and pleaded guilty to resisting a police officer. He was bound over in £300 to keep the peace for 12 months, fined £100 and ordered to pay £5 costs and £30 victim surcharge.

Parveen Akhtar, prosecuting, said Leslie Gray contacted police at 5.30 pm to say she and her partner had been arguing all day and asked them to remove him from their house. He had become angry when she couldn't transfer any money to his account because the Wi-Fi in the house wasn't working.

"When the police arrived he was aggressive and refused to leave," said Miss Akhtar.

Nick Dearing, defending, said the couple had been going through a rough patch and on Saturday Wallace took himself into the garden and spent the day drinking.

"For whatever reason she wanted him to leave the house and he took exception to her contacting the police," said Mr Dearing. "He would just like to draw a line under this and apologise to all parties."
