LANCASHIRE Police are working on plans for resources after news that Blackburn Rovers and Burnley will play on the same night.
The Clarets and Rovers rarely play home games on the same day due to policing issues.
However, Sky Sports has announced Burnley will be playing Chelsea in a rescheduled Premier League home match at Turf Moor on Thursday, April 19 at 7.45pm.
The game, which had previously been slated for March 17, was postponed following Chelsea's progression to the FA Cup quarter finals.
The revised fixture date however falls on the same day Blackburn Rovers' League One clash against Peterborough at Ewood Park, which will also be broadcast on Sky Sports.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: " We will work with both clubs to ensure that we have appropriate policing plans in place for both fixtures as well as adequate resources to police the rest of the county.”
Blackburn Rovers and Burnley FC declined to comment.
Both clubs are not playing this weekend due to the international break.
Tony Mowbray's side are flying high at the top of League One and Sean Dyche's team are in seventh - 13 points and two places behind Chelsea in the Premier League.
