ONE of Lancashire’s biggest summer events is set to return to Salesbury Hall this summer.

Organisers have confirmed that the Royal Lancashire Show will once again take place in one of its traditional sites this summer, despite it previously being held in Blackburn.

Taking place from July 20-22, the show will have a jam-packed programme of events with the famous Red Devil Army Team set to parachute into the show on the first day.

Chairman of the Royal Lancashire Show, Colin Mustoe said: “The team is very excited as the show this year is going to be bigger and better than last year, with many more attractions for the family and a much higher agricultural and livestock content.”

The livestock section of the show has significantly increased this year, with cattle, sheep, goats, poultry, horses and Alpacas all making appearances.

This year there will be a full show jumping programme, including two classes each day which will be in the main ring.

New additions to the show this year includes the introduction of a Ladies Marquee and free entry for kids in to the children’s village.

The Friday will be ladies day with fashions shows and other presentations taking place and an array of stalls selling clothing and jewellery on offer.

Local bands, including the Accrington Pipe Band will entertain the masses on the day.

Organisers of the even said: “The Royal Lancashire Show is going from strength to strength and is a fantastic day out for all the family.”
