A 29 year old man who drove to McDonald's to get breakfast was breathalysed after police received an anonymous tip off.

Damon Saliam Aldore, 29, of Agate Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. He was banned from driving for 17 months, fined £325 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £32 victim surcharge.

Aldore, who gave a reading of 60 against the legal limit of 35, said he had been drinking the night before, went to bed and woke up at 5am. He thought he would be fine to drive to McDonald's.

He told the court he worked in Liverpool and would lose his job as a result of the inevitable ban.
