Blackburn magistrates heard Wesley Smith quickly admitted the truth of the situation and admitted he had been drinking. Smith, 40, of Union Road, Oswaldtwistle, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, without insurance and other than in accordance with a licence. He was made subject to a curfew for eight weeks between 7 pm and 7 am and ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge. He was banned from driving for three years. The court heard Smith admitted having seven or eight pints before driving.
