RESIDENTS are asked to have their say on a council's local plan up to 2033.

People in Hyndburn can have their say on the borough's key issues, including houses, jobs and infrastructure, in the council's local plan.

There are six public drop-in events taking place around the borough next month and the first will be held at Huncoat Primary School, in Lynwood Road, on March 5 from 4pm to 7pm.

These will be followed by a drop-in event at Clayton-le-Moors Arthur Wilson Centre on March 8 from 4pm to 7pm, Oswaldtwistle Hippings Vale Centre on March 12 from 4pm to 7pm, Great Harwood Bank Mill House on march 14 from 4.15pm to 7pm, Rishton Conservative Club on March 20 from 4pm to 6pm and Accrington Town Hall on March 26 from 4pm to 7pm.

Cllr Miles Parkinson, Council Leader, urged people to take part, saying; “The Council has to maintain up-to-date plans to support growth, so there is enough land for homes, jobs and the infrastructure necessary to support them. We’re urging as many people as possible to take part in the debate about the issues the review should address in order to plan for the period to 2033.”

The consultation will run from next Wednesday until April 11.
