YOUNG’S is recalling its six pack Chip Shop Fish Cakes over fears it could contain pieces of plastic and metal.

It is concerning their 300g pack with the following batch codes and best before dates: January 2019: AAL 7209K and AAL 7209L, and then February 2019: AAK 7222J & AAL 7222K.

It was after a statement on the Food Standards Agency website. It said: “The presence of plastic and metal makes this product unsafe to eat and presents a safety risk. The affected product is sold in some Farmfoods and Heron Foods stores.

“If you have bought any of the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.”

“We apologise to retailers and our customers for any inconvenience caused by this voluntary recall.

“The safety and quality of our products is highly important to us and we take all issues regarding the production of our food extremely seriously.”
