FIREFIGHTERS have been battling a fire at a factory in Burnley.

Two fire engines from Burnley, one from Blackburn, one from Hyndburn and one from Nelson were called to the incident in Farrington Road at 11am this morning.

Burnley station watch manager Dave Robinson said the fire was initially located in the extractor ducting but it spread to the trailer of a heavy goods vehicle.

Firefighters used three hose reels, two jets and four breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire. They were at the scene for around three hours. Nobody was injured. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
