A PLANNING committee have rejected plans for a take away to be installed in a town centre.
Blackburn with Darwen planning committee have refused planning permission for a take away to be installed in Duckworth Street, Darwen.
Blackburn with Darwen Cllr for Sudell ward Jane Oates wrote in to complain about the proposed construction as she felt there were too many in the are already.
She said: "One of the main complaints about Darwen is that there are too many take aways.
"We have listened to what people have said in the past and want to make it clear that we do not just approve all planning requests.
"The proposed development did not meet with strict guide lines that we must adhere to when making planning decisions, as 70 per cent of the properties must be shops in order to maintain the integrity of the town centre."
