A TEENAGER has been given a community order after pleading guilty to assaulting a man and causing him actual bodily harm.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Shazaib Shafqat, 18, of Casterton Avenue, Burnley, committed the offence against Rameel Amin in Nelson on October 23.
Prosecution barrister Julian Taylor offered no evidence for a second allegation that Shafqat unlawfully and by force or fraud took or carried away Mr Amin against his will. Shafqat had always denied committing that offence.
Judge Andrew Woolman sentenced Shafqat to a 12-month community order and ordered him to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
Shafqat was also ordered to pay the statutory surcharge to support victim services.
