THERE is a 'looming care crisis' for disabled adults and families in the North West, a new report has revealed.

Around three quarters of families caring for disabled people with complex needs in the region live in fear of what will happen to their loved one when they are no longer able to provide support.

This makes it the joint worst performing region in England, according to the report by disability charity Sense.

Sense Deputy CEO, Richard Kramer said: “The clear warnings from families contained in this report about the consequences for them and their sons or daughters must be listened to as the current position is not sustainable."
