While the wintry scenes may look picture postcard pretty, there is a Met Office yellow weather warning for snow and ice in place until 3pm today across East Lancashire.
Forecasters say: "Some roads and railways may be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services."
Snow is set to fall in almost every part of the country in the coming days, with this week predicted to be one of the coldest of the winter so far.
There is a yellow weather warning for snow and ice between 10pm on Thursday and noon on Friday, across East Lancashire.
