MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays on their daily commute this morning after a server went down affecting traffic signals at junctions.
Blackburn with Darwen Roads posted the message on their Facebook page saying it was 'not good news'.
It is expected there will be delays particularly at M65 junction five, Darwen Street Bridge, Townsmoor Gyratory and along Furthergate and particularly at Copy Nook.
The post read: "Morning all - not good news this morning. Our server which hosts the UTC/SCOOT system has crashed following updates for the recent security exploits.
"The UTC/SCOOT system manages most of the traffic signal junctions using super duper algorithms to adjust the signal timings based on queue detection and length.
"Without this system, junctions will revert to their normal operation which will be fixed timed.
"As a result, delays are to be expected through this mornings rush hour, particularly at M65 J5, Darwen St Bridge/Townsmoor Gyratory and inbound along Furthergate particularly at Copy Nook.
"We’ll let you know when the system is back up and running."
