COUNCIL bosses will share road updates via Snapchat.
Following on from the success of BwDRoads, the official roads Facebook page run by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, council employees will be sharing the latest information on roadworks, highway maintenance, winter maintenance and all other road related matters via Snapchat.
A council spokesman said the photo sharing app will be used to broadcast snippets of information and service users will be able to visit the Facebook page for more detailed information
Residents took to Facebook to show their support for the move.
Martha Bretherton said: “Snapchat would be another great way to reach the community of varied ages, And if it doesn’t work, then it’s trial and error.
“Let’s not forget this is all to help us be aware of what’s going on in our council.”
James Rothwell said: “This is a great idea.
“They are using different forms of social media and reaching out to different age groups.”
