A WOMAN was rescued after lying collapsed on the floor 'for several hours'.
Firefighters were called to the medical emergency in Hall i' th' Wood.
A woman alerted the crew after finding her mother-in-law collapsed in her home in Green Way.
Watch manager for Bolton North, Richard Henthorne, said: "We broke the door through to reach her.
"She had been there for several hours.
"We delivered first aid."
An ambulance was called to the incident at 8.30pm on Monday, January 1.
The patient, who is understood to have collapsed some five hours earlier, was treated at the scene by paramedics.
