A LANCASHIRE Road police officer was 'battered and bruised' after he got hit by a car as he got out to speak to a driver.
Assistant Chief Constable Terry Woods tweeted about the incident which took place in Blackburn last night.
Awful start tonight as one of my @LancsRoadPolice officers just hit by a car as got out to speak to the driver in Blackburn and his vehicle also rammed. Just seen him in A & E we will make sure heβs looked after. Another totally unacceptable assault on 999 staff

He later responded with an update on the officer...
Update on officer - no broken bones, battered and bruised but will make speedy recovery - thanks for all your comments Iβm sure @LancsRoadPolice staff feel very valued π
