A MAN who died after trying to move his car in his driveway has been revealed as father-of-six James Pickup.
Described by his family as 'a big character', Mr Pickup died after he suffered serious leg injuries outside his home in Avallon Way, Darwen, on Saturday.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital but died the following day.
A spokesman from Mr Pickup's family said: "Our dad was a big character in Darwen and was full of life.
"He was liked by many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends."
Police renewed their appeal for information urging anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them.
Sgt Lee Harris said: “This was a tragic incident which has led to the death of a man.
"We believe Mr Pickup may have fallen from the door of the driver’s side while moving his vehicle, then become trapped.
"We are striving to establish exactly what happened.
"We want to establish Mr Pickup’s movements and would be keen to speak to anyone who saw him on Friday evening.
"Anyone with information, or who saw what happened, should contact police on 101 quoting log number 83 of December 9."
