A LORRY with smoke pouring out of its exhaust was attended to by fire crews.

The lorry had been travelling along the M65 when the driver was signalled by other motorists to pull over.

Fire crews, who attended the scene shortly after 7.30am, said the lorry was parked up at junction 7 with smoke coming from its exhaust.

A Lancashire fire spokesman said: "The smoke had been caused by excess oil that had travelled to the exhaust and overheated.

"We stayed on-site until it had cooled down, it was then made safe by an engineer."
