A YOUTUBE star has failed in her attempt to break a world record - but still raised more than £2,500 for Children in Need.

Antonella Brollini, 43, of Cedar Avenue, Haslingden, wasn’t able to eat a 750g jar of Nutella in her Antonella v Nutella Challenge, streamed live on her Facebook channel on Thursday night.

Although she wasn’t able to take the title from fellow YouTuber Arthur Rashe, she made £2,600, which is still rising.

Nelly said: “I starved myself all day so I was ready for it. I think I started off too quickly and the first spoonful I had was massive and as I got further down the jar, I started to feel sickly and the Nutella started to get stuck in my throat and I couldn’t swallow it.

“I was drinking water at the same time but I don’t think I drank enough.

“I feel a bit disappointed but I tried my best and I got a lot of support from my little Flowerpots.

“I felt a little bit sickly afterwards and I had a bit of a sugar rush but I didn’t feel too bad, just disappointed.

“I was overwhelmed by the level of support I got, but we still haven’t decided on a forfeit for me to do yet. We’ll decide over the weekend once all the money has come in.”

It’s the latest video in the Antonella the Uncensored Reviewer series that has given the mother-of-one a million followers on social media and her own TV show.

She’s in London this weekend filming for her new BBC3 show Truth or Mare, which aims to test common-held beliefs and misconceptions, and the programme is due to air at the end of the year.

She’s also now a part-owner in Haslingden fashion store Ruby and Daisy in Deardengate, which carries her Curvy Couture line.

She said: “The last few months have been an absolute rollercoaster and I get a lot of support.

“It’s like I’m a misfit and all the misfits follow me. Maybe I speak for the silent majority but they give me a lot of support.”
