A NORTHERN Ireland international cap awarded to Jimmy Quinn, when he was with Blackburn Rovers, sold for £600 at auction.

The cap was awarded to Quinn, who scored 17 goals in 71 Rovers appearances, during the 1986-1987 season, possibly for the Euro 88 qualifier against England at Wembley or against Turkey at Izmir on November 12,1986 when Quinn was 26.

Quinn scored 12 goals in his 46 matches for Northern Ireland and one of the most important of these was the goal he scored in the 1-0 win in a World Cup qualifier against Romania in Bucharest on October 16,1985.

The sale of the Graham Budd Auctions in London coincides with Quinn’s 58th birthday later this week.
