Primary schools across the Darwen area, have been taking part in e-safety training at Darwen Vale High School this term.

As part of the afternoon, the pupils were asked to think about how they use the internet and to be honest about times when they had communicated with people they are not friends with.

Those taking part were shown a video about a young girl who makes friends with someone that she doesn’t know on the internet and the danger that it brings.

They then created a poster to take back to school with some golden rules of staying safe when using the internet.

Meadowhead Junior School teacher Mrs. Michelle Slater said: “It’s great that Darwen Vale are supporting our students on such an important issue.

Our pupils found the session great fun and really informative.”

Darwen Vale High School Principal Matthew Little said: “The care and safety of our students is our constant focus, and so we’ve been delighted to put on these sessions to help primary schools in our community teach their pupils how to stay safe online as well.”
