RAMSBOTTOM United stunned Shaw Lane in the FA Trophy last night to book a second round tie with Altrincham.

The Evo-Stik North side powered to a 4-1 extra time against their higher level opponents in a first round replay.

Sam Heathcote levelled in the closing stages of normal time for the Rams to cancel out Paul Clayton’s opener.

But in extra time Jerome Wright hit a brace before Phil Dean added a fourth.

Meanwhile, the Rams are offering free admission to the home game with Stalybridge Celtic in the Integro League Cup next week.

Tuesday night’s clash is a rearranged tie after the initial match was abandoned due to floodlight failure with the hosts 1-0 up.

Should the scores be level after 90 minutes the game will go straight to penalties.

Elsewhere last night, Chorley warmed up for their FA Cup first round clash with League One side Fleetwood Town with a 1-1 home draw with Tamworth in the National League North.

In the Hallmark Security League Premier Division AFC Darwen suffered a heavy defeat at Ashton Athletic as they lost 6-0 while Barnoldswick Town were beaten 4-1 away at Burscough.
