Blackburn 1, Burnley 2 (March 9, 2014)

BURNLEY ended more than three decades of derby hurt by not only getting one over the old enemy, but at Ewood Park too.

After a 1-1 draw was played out at Turf Moor earlier in the season it was feared the long wait for East Lancashire bragging rights would continue when Jordan Rhodes put Rovers in front.

But two goals in six second half minutes from captain Jason Shackell and star striker Danny Ings earned a win that contributed to a 14-game unbeaten run and gave the club a huge boost in the race for promotion.

Burnley 2, Wigan 0 (April 21, 2014)

THE result that got Burnley over the line, and back in the Premier League, with two games to spare.

Ashley Barnes struck first, with a well-worked team goal - still a favourite of manager Sean Dyche.

Michael Kightly wrapped things up before the break, and the celebrations began.

Charlton 0, Burnley 3 (May 7, 2016)

BURNLEY were back in the Premier League, but the race for the title went down to the last day.

The Clarets had not lost a game since the turn of the year, and with Charlton Athletic in turmoil on and off the pitch, and already relegated, few would have backed against them making it 23 unbeaten and claiming top spot.

Dyche’s men delivered a professional performance, with goals from Sam Vokes, George Boyd and Andre Gray, and a 20th clean sheet.

It’s just a shame the powers that be had opted against taking the trophy to The Valley.

Crystal Palace 0, Burnley 2 (April 29, 2017)

THE Clarets left it late, but avoided going through a whole season without a win on the road in their penultimate Premier League away game.

Barnes struck early, to give them something to hold on to, and Gray rubber stamped the win in the 85th, securing an important result in their fight for survival against relegation rivals.

Chelsea 2, Burnley 3 (August 12, 2017)

BURNLEY stunned the football world with an opening day win away at the champions.

Captain Gary Cahill’s early red card rocked Chelsea, and the Clarets took full advantage with three first-half goals - two for Vokes and an absolute corker from Stephen Ward.

Chelsea pulled one back in the 69th minute through Alvaro Morata.

A red card for Cesc Fabregas was favourable for the Clarets, but they had to ride out a nervous finale after David Luiz made it 3-2 late on.
