MOTORISTS have been advised to find alternative routes after a car overturned in a town centre.

Police were called after a white BMW three series had overturned on Whalley Road, on the junction of Greenacre Street in Clitheroe at 7.40am.

A police spokesman said no one suffered any injuries and the car will be recovered.

He said: "The car is blocking both sides of the road which is causing a bit of congestion.

"Drivers have been advised find alternative routes to avoid the road."

  • A 30-year-old man from Clitheroe has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

He is now in custody.
