Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 3-0 home win over Portsmouth

David Raya 6

One smart save in the first half but a relatively quiet afternoon in difficult conditions.  Kicking below his usual standards.

Ryan Nyambe 7

His extra athleticism and drive from right-back was welcomed as he was preferred to Paul Caddis. Allowed a few too many crosses to come in from his side in the second half.

Paul Downing 7

Another clean sheet on his welcome return to the side.  His use of the ball, sliding passes in to midfield, was particularly impressive.

Charlie Mulgrew 7

Saw a second half free-kick palmed away by McGee and was sound and solid in his defensive play with several good interceptions.

Derrick Williams 7

Looked to get more involved in the attacking play than in recent weeks and claimed an assist for Graham in the second half

Richie Smallwood 7

Provided some real drive in the middle of the pitch and helped Rovers get on the front foot with some good pressing. Saw a dipping 25-yarder saved in the first half.

Peter Whittingham 7

Is starting to find his feet in a Rovers shirt and looks more confident by the game.  Went close to his first goal with a shot in the second half.

Elliott Bennett 7

Picked up some intelligent positions but his final ball let him down at times. However, one good piece of closing down and one neat pass saw him have a hand in the second and third goals.

Bradley Dack 8 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

Another fine finish, his second of the week, gave Rovers the lead just before the break.

His partnership with Graham is showing signs of promise but it was good link-up with Chapman which brought him his goal.

Becoming more influential by the week and may well feel he should have had more than the one he did score.

Harry Chapman 7

Given his chance from the start and came up with the assist for Dack’s goal.  Could have ran at his opposite number a bit more though.

Danny Graham 8

His second half side-foot finish was pure quality, defying that of a man who had previously scored just once this season. Link up play excellent and was denied by the bar in the first half.
