GRACE Davies broke down in tears on tonight's X Factor as judge Sharon Osbourne stopped her mid-way through her make-or-break audition.

But despite judge Osbourne's doubts about the performance, the Langho singer still made it through to the live shows.

Her selection came as shock to the 20-year-old after her own song, More Than You, was interrupted by her mentor, which led to the singer breaking down in tears.

It is the first time Grace, who has so far wowed judges with three different original performances, has suffered a wobble on the ITV reality show.

Tonight also saw Osbourne pick her other two finalists with 16-year-olds Holly Tandy and Rai-Elle Williams also qualifying for next week's live shows.

Tandy performed Rihanna's Russian Roulette while Williams added an original rap to Gotye's Somebody That I Used To Know.

Alisah Bonaobra, Georgina Panton and Deanna fell at the final hurdle as they were omitted from Osbourne's final three.

Sunday night's show will see the boys and groups attempt to woo judges Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell in the second part of the judges' houses phase.

Walsh's boys will jet off to Istanbul in a bid to impress him and guest judge Mika, while Cowell's groups are off to the French Riviera where they are met by the mogul and Cheryl.

Clitheroe's Kelsey Gill will be hoping Cowell picks her girl group, who are tipped to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Little Mix and One Direction.
