POLICE are to interview a man in connection with an assault on a train that involved transphobic language against two girls.
A 17-year-old was attacked on a service between Blackburn and Preston on October 10 by a man who boarded at Blackburn.
He used transphobic language against the girl and her friend of the same age and damaged a mobile phone.
Officers from British Transport Police released an image of a man they wanted to speak to and say a man has contacted them.
A spokesman said: "A man has contacted police and is helping us with our inquiries.
"He is due to attend custody and be interviewed in relation to this matter. Inquiries are continuing."
