DETECTIVES are on the hunt for a thief who stole house and car keys from a property.
Police said a man approached a house in Highercroft Road, Lower Darwen, stealing two jackets and a set of house and car keys from inside on Tuesday between 10am and 11am.
CCTV footage showed images of a man walking down Highercroft Road with one of the victim’s jackets wrapped around his waist, while looking through the pockets of another jacket he stole.
The thief dropped and left one jacket but kept the other.
The victim’s daughter has launched an appeal online in an attempt to catch the culprit.
Caren Anderton, who lives in Astley Heights, Darwen, said: “Since July this year my parents house has been broken into three times.
“The locks to my parents house had been changed that evening and have been locking the front door all the time.
“The door was left unlocked for me for just 10 minutes as I was driving up the road.
“I want the police to deal with them and to raise awareness of this issue."
A police spokesman said: “Nobody has been arrested at this stage but enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101."
