BBC presenters are pedalling for Pudsey this November by cycling over 100 miles in total in aid of BBC Children In Need.

Graham Liver, newsreader on BBC North West Tonight and Breakfast presenter on BBC Radio Lancashire, and John Gillmore, who presents the Afternoon show, will set off from the Ashton Memorial in Lancaster to start their epic journey.

The pair will then be visiting every part of Lancashire in their special PudseyMobile, including, Chorley, Blackburn, Accrington, Burnley, Colne, Padiham, Whalley and Clitheroe.

The duo hope that they will be joined along their route by listeners to help cheer them on; there will also be coverage on the radio, online and on BBC North West Tonight.

They will finish up on Friday 17 November, ahead of BBC Children in Need Appeal night, at Blackpool Tower.

The pair aren’t strangers to fundraising for BBC Children in Need. Last year, Graham dragged a specially-designed bed along highways and country lanes meeting listeners in many of the towns and villages covered by BBC Radio Lancashire.

Graham Liver said: “Last year, pulling a bed across the county was surprisingly really hard but it was the generous people of Lancashire who kept me going.

"This year will be different because it's not a normal bike ride.

"We are cycling a PudseyMobile, which is a four seater cycle but with every strength in the world it does not look like a bike at all.

"It looks more like a little yellow cab.

"We will be visiting local primary schools too because when we cycle in with these strange bikes kids will go crazy for it.

“This year, I’ve enlisted the help of one of Britain’s most athletic radio presenters and I just hope that Gilly’s military-style training regime isn’t too much for me!”

"It's the furthest I have travelled on something like this.

"I pride myself in doing it the same way a listener would do it so I haven't done much training on the bike at all."

John Gillmore said: “Over the years I’ve done some ridiculous things for charity but being on the PudseyMobile is possibly the strangest yet.

“As well as setting a world record for BBC Children in Need, I’ve long supported Graham’s many challenges and I’m looking forward to teaming up and raising as much money as possible for such a great cause”.

BBC Children in Need’s Chief Executive, Simon Antrobus said: “I’m looking forward to helping Graham and Gilly Pedal for Pudsey and I hope that everyone comes out to cheer them on as they take on this mammoth challenge! The money that they raise will go on to make a real difference to young lives.”

The official fundraising pack is available for download now from bbc.co.uk/pudsey and is bursting with ideas to inspire Do Your Thing fundraising ahead of the 38th Appeal show on Friday 17 November.
