COUNCILLORS in Hyndburn have acted after complaints about overhanging trees.
Several residents from Accrington had raised concerns to council deputy leader Cllr Paul Cox about the overhanging trees from the land adjacent to the rear of East Crescent at the bottom of Livingstone Road.
Previously the trees were maintained by Lancashire County Council wardens but following budget cuts the trees had begun to overgrow.
Complaints from residents included causing obstructions and reducing light and visibility.
However Cllr Cox, along with Accrington North County Councillor Lorraine Cox, have now ensured county council staff cut back the trees.
Cllr Cox said: "I was first contacted about the overgrown trees several months ago.
"It does become frustrating when small maintenance issues seem to be frustratingly difficult to deal with."
