TRAVELLERS have relocated to a former school car park following their eviction from a town centre park.
The group have set up camp on the former Moorland School site at Holden Fold, Darwen, after they were moved on from Olive Lane Park on Friday.
The travellers arrived on the park in August were quickly moved on by the council. They then returned to the site a further three times before moving to the former school sit on Friday.
Sudell Ward Cllr Jane Oates said: "They were moved off the park on Friday and on Saturday I got a call to say they had moved up to the old Moorland School site.
"I went up to see them yesterday and it is the same two vans from the park, they are now camped on what used to be the car park.
"It is going through our legal system and I believe they started proceedings yesterday morning.
"I understand residents' frustrations but we can't get around the legal process.
"It's long and drawn out and needs changing really."
A spokesman for Blackburn with Darwen Council said: "A 24-hour notice for their removal was served today."
