A CHARITY is hoping to attract more people to its services after launching its new website following an £18,000 grant.

Advocacy Focus, based in Accrington, applied for the grant earlier this year and had to complete a series of conference calls and webinars before the grant was approved.

The charity, formed in 1998, provides service to a wide range of individuals with varying health and social care needs, helping them to communicate with specialist services.

Justine Hodgkinson, CEO of Advocacy Focus, said: "One of the biggest challenges we have is explaining what advocacy is and how it can support a variety of people in health and social care matters, so it was important to create a website that is really easy to navigate and explains our complex services.”

The charity received the £18,000 from Transform Foundation’s charity website grant programme.

The new Advocacy Focus website allows users to donate via its payment processors, Stripe and GoCardless, and also lets people set up fundraising events via the site and have people make donations on their behalf.
