A DARWEN school principal will be seconded to a school in Salford.

Darwen Aldridge Enterprise Studio Governors announced on Friday that principal Ruth Bradbury will be moving to UTC@MediaCityUK.

She will be taking up the interim position of Principal of the school in Salford at the end of October and the Studio School’s Vice Principal, Colin Grand, will step up on an interim basis as Principal at the Studio.

In a letter to parents, the Chair of the Studio School’s Local Governing Committee, Ian Clark said the arrangements are expected to remain in place for the whole of the 2017-18 academic year.

He said: "Aldridge Education and the Darwen cluster of Aldridge schools have had a long standing partnership with the UTC@MediaCityUK since its opening in 2015.

"Ruth’s successful experience leading the Studio since its establishment in 2014 will be invaluable for the UTC and her secondment will support the UTC until it recruits its permanent Principal in 2018.

Aldridge Education’s Executive Principal Brendan Loughran said: "The UTC is at an important stage of its development and it makes sense that we step in and provide the necessary interim support.

Mr Grand and the team at the Studio will be supported by me and our local and national team, and we are confident that they will continue the great work taking place there".
